Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 – FIRST LOOK

Over the past few weeks, we have been hearing in regards to the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and possible changes to its design. Many tipsters have come forward and reported that the phone’s proportions will change barely to make it wider, and the phone will feature the camera system found on the Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Although we knew all the main points, we didn’t know what they may appear like after launch. Well, that changes today as On Leaks has shared a primary have a look at the Galaxy Z Fold 4 that shows that every thing we have heard in regards to the phone was indeed true.

These are based on official CAD renders, so you may expect them to be 99% accurate. As you may see, the Z Fold 4 looks very much like its predecessor, but there are some key design changes. First the rear camera, the design looks just like the one on the S22 Ultra, except that the sensors seem more protruding. That is because Samsung finally used its flagship camera system within the Z Fold 4. The three cameras come directly from the S22 Ultra’s 108MP predominant camera and 10MP telephoto lens with 3x zoom. When unfolded, the Z Fold 4 is simply 7.1 mm thick and due to this fact the camera sensors protrude greater than within the S22 Ultra.

The change in dimensions confirms that the Z Fold 4 is indeed getting shorter and wider. The display case, while not as wide because the one on Oppo’s foldable phone, does look wider. Ice Universe claims that it’s as wide because the iPhone 13 mini, and if that’s indeed the case, people should not have any problem with it.

Moreover, the phone looks more boxy this time around in comparison with the Z Fold 3 and interestingly, Samsung has actually increased the thickness from 6.4mm on the Z Fold 3 to 7.1mm on the Z Fold 4 when unfolded. We usually are not increasing the scale of the battery, but this most certainly has to do with the brand new and bigger camera sensors.

Nonetheless, despite its thickness, Ice Universe claims that the Z Fold 4 might be significantly lighter than its predecessor. It even says that the Z Fold 4 might be lighter than the iPhone 13 Pro Max with the case on. As you may see, it says it would weigh lower than 260 grams, which can be amazing if it were actually true.

By the way in which, the Z Fold 3 weighs 271 grams.

Onleaks mentions that Samsung has indeed made a change to the hinge design. Although he didn’t mention what precisely the changes might be, we already know that they use a single hinge, not two. Samsung will offer the phone in three colours – beige, black and grey. With that said, the Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 charging speeds have been revealed.

The Z Fold 4 can have a 25W charging standard, the identical as its predecessor, but we see an improvement on the Z Flip 4. It would even have a 25W charging speed faster from just 15W for its predecessor. Paired with a good 3,700mAh battery, 400 greater than its predecessor, the Z Flip 4 will get big improvements in charging and battery. Samsung might be holding an Unpacked event in late July and early August where it would showcase these phones.
