iPhone 14 Pro – it should be weird

We’re lower than per week away from Apple’s iPhone 14 keynote, all while we were under the impression that Apple would finally switch from the notch to the I-shaped notch. Seems that is not true. A brand new report suggests otherwise.

As a substitute of two notches, Apple will use software to essentially darken the world between the 2 notches to make it appear like one solid notch.

This report originated from Macrumors and was later confirmed by 9to5Mac sources, and eventually Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman also confirmed that that is indeed the case.

Pill-shaped and punch-hole cutouts on iPhone 14 Pro variants might be bridged in software. Well, the world between the cutouts won’t be completely unusable. iPhone 14 Pro – it will be weird

Apple will use this space to display privacy indicators if an app is accessing your camera or microphone, or each. Currently, Apple puts a red and green dot in the highest corner of the display, but now it should appear between the notches.

For those who ask me, I don’t love it one bit. The cutout was a terrible alternative and the primary pill and hole design was a greater compromise. Still bad, nevertheless it was barely higher. But this version just threw it out the window once more.

The i-shaped design looked a bit unique in comparison with most other Android camera notch designs. I mean, Samsung used the identical pill-shaped design in 2019 with the Galaxy S10 5G, and Apple literally takes it and puts it in the middle of the display. I also see loads of people saying it’s clever, great use of space and all that stuff that is typical of Apple fanboying, because the present version of the pointer display could thoroughly be recreated without having to obfuscate the space between the pill and the opening punch.

So to start with, I do not understand what is going on on. Artificially limiting screen space for small camera/microphone use cases is ridiculous. So no, I do not think it’s design alternative in any respect.

Either way, we’ve got an update on the pricing of the iPhone 14. Previously, there have been rumors that the value of all 14 variants would increase by $100. It seems that this will likely not be true. In response to trendforce, we’ll as a substitute see a $50 price increase across all iPhone 14 models. Trendforce says Apple desires to play it protected by making smaller increases in light of the difficult economy and declining smartphone market. And at last, a slight change within the naming of the iPhone 14 Max. As a substitute of calling it Max, which could potentially confuse users into considering it is the high-end variant, Apple could as a substitute call it iPhone 14 Plus
